‘Down To The Embers’ is the 7th Distance Of Hope single from the ‘12 Songs’ project and is out on all streaming platforms on 12 December 2020.
This song was written in April this year immediately after the upbeat and optimistic last single ‘‘Astronautas’ and is a more honest reflection of how I was feeling at that time surrounded by a world of political madness and increasing isolation amidst a pandemic.
If I were releasing it as a record, it would be the B-side of ‘Astronautas’ as it is very much the melancholy, downbeat and perhaps even depressing opposite. It’s a place we all visit from time to time, where it sometimes feels like there’s no way out. And yet, I also like to think, like with all my music, that though it may be tinged with melancholy, somewhere just under the surface, there is always a little bit of hope…”

‘Down To the Embers’ (Hasta Las Ascuas) es la septima canción del proyecto ’12 Canciones’ y sale en todas las plataformas de streaming el 12 de diciembre.
Esta canción estuvo escrita en abril de este año inmediatamente después del último sencillo alegre y optimista ‘Astronautas’ y es una reflexión más honesta sobre como me estaba sintiendo en ese momento rodeado de un mundo de locura política y aislamiento creciente en medio de una pandemia.
Si la lanzase como vinilo, sería el lado-B de ‘Astronautas’ porque es el contrario melancólico y pesimista. Es un sitio a donde vamos todos de vez en cuando, donde se siente como no hay salida. Sin embargo, me gusta creer, como con toda mi música, que aunque sea matizado con melancolía, en alguna parte justo debajo de la superficie, hay siempre un poco esperanza…
